The current post-election upheaval in Iran can be best characterized as a movement for civil and political rights that is mainly driven by the Iranian youth. As this movement matures, the younger generation is expressing strong leadership in all aspects of socio-political changes that are prone to transform Iran’s future. What sets the younger leadership apart is its detachment from dogmatic ideologies, its massive use of new media and its desire for integration of a multi-vocal Iranian society into the global community.

New Generation, New Perspectives, New Media is a unique interactive forum will bring together young Iranian academics, journalists, bloggers and social entrepreneurs active in social media in talks, panels and open discussions. Panelists and speakers will provide discussion openers on critical issues related to the role of new media in social change for Iran and engage the audience (both present and online) in a collaborative discussion on these topics. Leveraging the power of Tweets, real-time Facebook uploads and other interactive media technologies, the final product of the forum will be a set of collaborative artifacts generated by the speakers and the participants throughout the day.
